Flight Coordination Department - Air Ambulance

Flight Coordination Department - Air Ambulance

On July 29 th 2009 Jet Rescue Air Ambulance transported on one of its air ambulances an American tourist that had experienced serious medical problems while on vacation. The patient was diagnosed with Pneumonia, shortness of breath and was connected to a ventilator. Both doctors and family decided it was better for the patient to be transported back to the US in order to receive adequate medical care.

Jet Rescues` highly trained and compassionate medical team transported the patient from Shangai, China to Los Angeles California via air ambulance.

Jet Rescue air ambulance`s medical infrastructure allows transporting critically ill patients that are ventilator dependant from one continent to another.

For Jet Rescue Air Ambulance it was important that the patient and its family did not get confronted with the burden of all the bureaucracy, paperwork and hassle that comes with an air ambulance transport. Especially in China the language and cultural barrier can cause big delays and frustration to the patient and its family.

The Jet Rescue Air Ambulance flight coordination department made all the necessary arrangements to fly this patient back home bedside to bedside despite the fact that it was a Holiday in China.

Jet Rescue Air Ambulance commitment is to provide safe, quality, affordable air medical transport and relieve case managers and patients’ families of the burden of travel logistics.

Jet Rescue Air Ambulance always stresses for people to check if they are covered for air ambulance transportation when travelling outside of the United States.

With the rising cost of medical fees overseas, foreign facilities not accepting US Insurance and sometimes sub standard medical care it is important to buy a travel protection plan.

Jet Rescue Air Ambulance

Jet Rescue Air Ambulance

Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, a worldwide provider of air ambulance services with bases in Scottsdale AZ,Guadalajara MX and Toluca MX announces that the organization is the first Latin American Air Ambulance company in process for obtaining the EURAMI (European Association of Aero-Medical Professionals & Organizations) accreditation. Obtaining this prestigious accreditation would be of great importance to Jet Rescue Air Ambulance as it would objectively confirm the quality standards of the company.

EURAMI is a Stuttgart (Germany) based non-profit association of air medical professionals and operators from 27 countries in and outside Europe The association aims to promote air rescue and to develop and harmonize quality standards and to improve patient care and safety in air medical transports.

Quote: “EURAMI Accreditation Standards are periodically revised criteria to assess an Air Medical Service’s level of quality in terms of capabilities, medical management and qualifications, aircraft’s configuration and equipment, operational issues, communications, management policies, quality management, and/or specific requirements for fixed wing and rotor wing aircrafts. These Accreditation Standards are based on legal standards of the European Union (European Standards, e.g. EN 13718-2), international expertise, and the experience of leading European Air Medical Services.”

In order to obtain the EURAMI Accreditation, Jet Rescue Air Ambulance has to accept a specially arranged visit, a thorough inspection, assessment and evaluation performed by a specially trained EURAMI Auditor. When the EURAMI board gives the green light, customers will start to note Jet Rescue’s EURAMI certification and know that they are securing a flight with a reliable air ambulance service.

The EURAMI accreditation would not only show that Jet Rescue Air Ambulance complies with the strict American Air Ambulance standards but also with the European standards!

Medical Equipment Air Ambulance service

Medical Equipment

Jet Rescue Air Ambulance always strives to have the most reliable state-of-the-art medical equipment in the air ambulance industry. It is also the company’s policy that the equipment used by the medical team is less than 4 years old. Now, why is this so important? I hear you think.

The following example is just one of many that show that the quality of the medical equipment does make a difference. On the 2nd of November 2009 Jet Rescue Air Ambulance transported a Bariatric Patient with Pneumonia from a hospital in Saltillo, a city in Mexico, to the receiving hospital in Dallas.

The ventilator at the Hospital in Mexico could not support this 228 kilos (About  417 lbs.) patient. To make the situation even more worrying, the equipment used by the initially contracted Air Ambulance Company was also unable to support this patient. The patient’s O2 saturation was below 89.

Jet Rescue’s Draeger Oxylog 3000 once again proved that there is no other transport ventilator with the same capabilities! Without any problem at all the Oxylog 3000 supported this patient and the O2 Saturation during the bed-to-bed transport remained at a satisfactory level of 97%!

This patient was experiencing a life threatening situation and was in critical condition. Imagine if you or your beloved ones are in a similar life threatening situation. Would you want to depend on medical equipment that is outdated or just not up for the task?  Exactly, and that is why Jet Rescue Air Ambulance strives to have the best, state-of-the-art and most reliable medical equipment!

The Jet Rescue Air Ambulance medical equipment that is available for each flight consists of;

- Zoll M Series CCT fullu loaded  Monitor/Defibrillator/Pacemaker

- Laerdal Portable Suction Unit

- Dräger Oxylog 3000 transport ventilator/Oxylog 2000 back up ventilator

- Siui Cts 900 portable ultrasound

- Ultrasound scanner for mobile use in and outside the aircraft with 5-inch  TFT LCD, 256 grey shades, Memory up to 160 images, 2-kg weigh
